Home Air Purifiers - But Why

Why Use Air Purifiers?

Every day the average adult breathes in up to 900 cubic feet of air. And the Environmental Protection Agency states that since most people spend a majority of their lives indoors, the quality of indoor air is a major area of concern. In fact, the large surface area of the lungs and the sensitivity of the tissues make them particularly susceptible to air pollution. Pollen, dander, smoke, and mold enter our bodies through our large and vulnerable lungs.

The AirSource 3000 is an extremely effective indoor air purifying system.
It works through a patented combination of technologies: Photohydroionization* and Electron Generation. Here's how these two technologies work:

        1.  Photohydroionization* Module
An advanced oxidation reaction occurs when light energy from the ultraviolet
(UV) lamp reacts with oxygen, ozone, a small amount of moisture in the air, and
the hydrated Tri-metallic Catalyst. This reaction creates cleansing ions, such as
hydroperoxides and superoxide ions, which are mixed with the air. The treatment
of your air includes:
  • Suppression of bacteria growth (bacteriostatic)
  • Suppression of mold growth (mycostatic)
  • Reduction of odors
  • Reduction of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds)
        2.  Electron Generator
A unique dielectric chamber that generates an expanding negative electrostatic
field. Positively charged particles that enter the field pick up negative charges
until neutralized, which allows the force of gravity to take over and pull the
particles out of the breathing space. Particles also tend to agglomerate (clump
together), forming larger particles that remain on horizontal surfaces until
vacuumed or wiped up as part of your normal cleaning activities. The treatment
of your indoor air includes:
  • Reduction of airborne particulate matter
  • Reduction of airborne microorganisms
  • Reduction of cigarette smoke
  • Reduction of odors

The AirSource 3000 helps reduce all three of the major forms of air pollution: particles such as pollen, pet dander, dust, and cigarette smoke; microbes such as mold and bacteria; and gases and odors. That's especially critical since the Environmental Protection Agency consistently ranks indoor air pollution among the top five environmental risks to public health.

Clinical Results:
New AirSource 3000 Usage Recommendations When the AirSource 3000 was first introduced, based upon testing verified by an independent engineer, a minimum square footage of 120 square feet was recommended. Later, resulting largely from distributor and customer feedback rather than from additional testing, the minimum recommendation was increased to 1,000 square feet. This was intended to deter usage in small or unventilated spaces. More advanced testing recently conducted at a prestigious university test facility showed that for ventilated spaces occupied by people and/or pets with average air quality, a minimum of 500 square feet is acceptable. Spot cleaning by temporarily placing the unit in an unoccupied area with the door closed (as in basements) also is acceptable.
